Graduate Division has the opportunity to nominate two students for the 2022-23 Distinguished Master's Thesis Award, presented by the Western Association of Graduate Schools (WAGS) and PROQUEST. If selectet, the recipient will receive an award consisting of a certificate, $1,000, and travel expenses to the annual WAGS meeting in Portland, OR. Nomination materials due on September 16. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is a highly competitive international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. In the 2022-23 award cycle, 15 students applied from UCSB, 6 were selected as finalists, 2 were selected as alternates, and 4 were selected as semi-finalists. Congratulations to these outstanding students!

The Director is responsible for building a strategic marketing and communication plan that includes the development and implementation of a marketing and social media strategy for the Graduate Division as part of an overarching University campaign. For primary consideration, applicants should submit materials by June 9, 2022.

The Graduate Division, in partnership with the Division of Student Affairs, is currently accepting applications for the International Graduate Student Peer Advisor. Along with an hourly salary and partial fee support, this position provides the opportunity to gain valuable experience working in academic administration while supporting fellow graduate students. With his winning three-minute talk, “The Early Bird Gets the Worm, but the Second Mouse Gets the Cheese: What Simple Organisms Can Teach Us about Our Daily Rhythms," Geoff Meyerhof, a graduate student in Biomolecular Science & Engineering, took the Grad Slam 2022 championship.
