Congratulations to Kacie Ring (the UCSB 2024 Grad Slam Champion) for not only taking Second Place but also People's Choice in the systemwide UC Grad Slam!

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is a highly competitive international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. In the 2024-25 award cycle, 10 students applied from UCSB, 1 was selected as a semi-finalist, 2 were selected as alternates, and 3 were selected as finalists. Congratulations to these outstanding students!

Kacie Ring took top honors with her talk "Healthy Forests, Healthy Humans" in the campus’ 11th annual Grad Slam Showcase, which features graduate students from diverse fields as they compete in the art of the three-minute research talk. Read on to learn more about all of our winners!

We're kicking off Spring Quarter by celebrating YOU with our UCSB Library Wine & Cheese Grad Appreciation Reception. Join us on Tuesday April 2 from 4:30-6:00pm for a fun social event hosted by the Graduate Division and the UCSB Library. The event is FREE to all current graduate students; wine and light hors d'oeuvres will be served, and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.

The National Science Foundation is seeking public input from graduate students to develop equitable public access plans for federally-funded research publications.

Help the UCSB Office of the Chief Information Officer and the UCSB IT Strategy Development & Alignment Initiative better understand the IT-related wants and needs of students.
