The 2022 Grad Slam competition is now open! This year, Grad Slam is combining the most successful elements from previous competitions, featuring virtual video submissions in the Qualifying Round and a live in-person Final Round. We're giving away over $16,000 in cash prizes, and all currently enrolled graduate students are eligible to compete. The deadline for Qualifying Round video submissions is Tuesday, February 1, so be sure to read on for more info on the competition rules and timeline!

The 2022 Grad Slam competition is now open!

UCSB's annual competition for the best 3-minute talk by a graduate student launches this year on January 4 and will feature presentations by students explaining the central points of their project in a clear, direct, and interesting manner for a general audience.

This year, Grad Slam is combining the most successful elements from previous competitions, featuring virtual video submissions in the Qualifying Round and a live in-person* Final Round. Qualifying Round videos will be available for the public to view from February 4-15, and the Final Round will also be livestreamed.

Over $16,000 in cash prizes will be given away to our finalists, and $50 gift cards will be given toall students who successfully submit a Qualifying Round video. The deadline for Qualifying Round video submissions is Tuesday, February 1.

All currently enrolled graduate students are eligible to compete. More information on the competition rules, training opportunities, and submission guidelines can be found on the 2022 Grad Slam page.
