The Hosford Counseling & Psychological Services Clinic is a University-based community clinic that is designed to provide culturally sensitive, low-cost individual, couple, family, and group psychological treatment to the entire Santa Barbara community. The clinic serves the general public as well as undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff from our local universities/colleges.

At Hosford, you can seek short, medium, or long-term services depending on your need. Appointments are not limited and you can continue to access the clinic even after you graduate.

Who Might Seek Services at Hosford?

Anyone who is interested in learning more about themselves or who has a specific concern they want support with. Some common concerns for individuals seeking services at Hosford include: anxiety, communication, depression, grief/loss, low self-esteem, life transitions, school adjustment, relationship issues, difficulties within families, self-concept, stress, trauma, personal and career decisions, parenting difficulties

How Much Does an Appointment Cost?

Services are on a sliding fee schedule of $25 to $100/session. UCSB and SBCC students receive services at our lowest community fee of $25/session. Due to the economic impacts of Covid-19 all clients may apply for further fee reductions if needed.

Who Are the Therapists at Hosford Clinic?

The Hosford Clinic serves as a training site for students in the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology (CCSP) of UCSB and as a clinical-research facility for the faculty and students of the CCSP Department.

How Does COVID-19 Impact the Hosford Clinic?

The Hosford Clinic is currently fully operational and accepting new teletherapy (via Zoom), in person, and hybrid clients. The Clinic has a comprehensive safety plan approved by the University in place.
