The Scriptworlds Conference on May 31 and June 1 will bring together an interdisciplinary group of scholars who base their work on the fact that the human visual system adapts culturally. Join talks on Linguistics, East Asian Languages, English, Visual Art, Jewish Studies, American Sign Language and more! Colleagues with an interest in writing, script, cognitive science, and visual culture are encouraged to attend.
Recent discoveries in neuroscience haâve revealed that the way we write is developed within the constraints of the brain and our visual system. The findings push us to rethink our understanding of literature beyond the confines of state and national language. The Scriptworlds Conference will bring together an interdisciplinary group of scholars who base their work on the fact that the human visual system adapts culturally. Join talks on Linguistics, East Asian Languages, English, Visual Art, Jewish Studies, American Sign Language, Comparative Literature, and Emojis.
