The mission of the Isla Vista Coalition for Healthy Communities 805 (IVCHC805) is to enhance the quality of life in Isla Vista and surrounding communities through education, collaboration, and programs that reduce high-risk substance use factors and increase resilience in children, young adults, and families. The mission of the Isla Vista Coalition for Healthy Communities 805 (IVCHC805) is to enhance the quality of life in Isla Vista and surrounding communities through education, collaboration, and programs that reduce high-risk substance use factors and increase resilience in children, young adults, and families. In December of 2019, IVCHC805 was awarded a DFC federal grant of $125,000 a year for 5 years with a potential of additional 5 years. These federal funds support "local efforts for local problems" therefore directly supporting IVCHC805!
IVCHC805 is looking to hire a Full-time Project Coordinator to provide direct leadership to the coalition of 30+ members as well as support all grant related activities and requirements. IVCHC805 is looking for an experienced community leader and passionate individual to drive the mission forward. The fiscal agent is the Channel Islands YMCA and the program is housed at St. George Youth Center-in Isla Vista.
