Both positions to begin as soon as possible.

Position 1: Hourly Student Assistants

Graduate students hired as Student Assistants will work with instructors, ideally in courses in their departments, to facilitate the technical logistics in order to make remote instruction possible and effective for the instructors during the Spring Quarter. Duties might include assisting with GauchoSpace or Zoom management, helping to facilitate hosting of remote instruction materials, and other technical functions associated with remote instruction.

  • Dates flexible; start date ASAP
  • Hours flexible, minimum of 15-20 hours per week.
  • Hourly rate: $24 - 26 per hour

Position 2: Remote Teaching TAs

Remote teaching TAs will work with faculty on instructional needs, such as designing courses, assignments, or assessments to be used in remote instruction. TAs will work with multiple faculty in a single department.

  • Position is for spring quarter, commencing as soon as possible
  • Both .50 TAships (220 hours/quarter) and 25% TAships (110 hours/quarter) are possible; TAs who already have an existing .50 appointment can add a 25% position for a total .75 appointment with departmental approval
  • Pay follows UAW contract and includes payment of spring tuition, partial fees, and UC SHIP health insurance.
