Please join the Office of Teaching and Learning for this year's First-Gen & Transfer Scholars Welcome! This event will be held on Tuesday, September 26 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm in Mosher Alumni House.

This event brings together the first-gen and transfer community (faculty, staff, graduate, and undergraduate students) and allies to show students that they belong at UCSB and that they have a strong community committed to their success.

Organizers invite folks who identify as first-gen college graduates or former transfer students to join us as Mentors. Mentors can simply be present and mingle with students, or Mentors can also lead informal table discussions with students. Topics include: understanding office hours, getting involved on campus, study skills, and more.

If you are interested in volunteering as a mentor please click here!

If you'd like to submit a First-Gen Spotlight and/or a Transfer Spotlight to be featured at the Welcome, please complete these forms and include a headshot of yourself:
