Logan's research on the heatwave-mitigating impact of mussel "parenting" on the depleting green shell population won over the judges and UCSB's Grad Slam Grand Prize of $5,000. Now Logan will compete against members of all the other UC campuses for her share of the $14,000 total prize money.
