Read on for an important message from the Graduate Division about how to apply for instructional technology assistance!

As the fall quarter begins, the campus is keenly aware that some of you need assistance to ensure that you have appropriate equipment and connections to pursue remote instruction as either students or instructors. In order to meet this need, the campus has created an Instructional Technology Grant Program, which is open to all currently enrolled UCSB graduate students (domestic, permanent resident, and international students are all eligible).

The purpose of the Instructional Technology Grant is to assist UC Santa Barbara graduate students with expenses related to remote education, both learning and teaching. These expenses may include: webcams, headsets, hard drives, upgraded internet service, software, hardware, etc. Expenses that have already been incurred are also eligible for reimbursement.

Students may request up to $1,000.00, but funds are limited and may not be sufficient to cover all expenses in every case. Following your submission, a staff committee will review your application and may contact you to request supporting documentation before a decision is made. Award notifications will be sent after the application deadline has closed.

Applications will be accepted from Thursday, October 8, to Thursday, October 22. Students who miss the application window will not be able to apply for funds, so we encourage you to complete your application soon. Apply here.

Thank you for your attention, and we wish you a safe and productive fall quarter.

Sincerely,
The Graduate Division
