The National Institute of Justice awards grants and agreements for research, development and evaluation, forensic laboratory enhancement and research fellowships. Various deadlines approaching as early as May 14, 2018.

The 21st Century Global Dynamics Research Fellowship is open to all UCSB students who have advanced to PhD candidacy. They are seeking TWO advanced PhD students with background and interests in such areas as media, globalization, institutional studies, and cultural geography. Application deadline is May 15, 2018.

The Center for Black Studies Research at the University of California Santa Barbara seeks applications for a postdoctoral fellowship on research related to Black Studies, African diaspora, Haitian studies, social movements, engaged scholarship, or urban studies. Application Deadline is May 15, 2018.

The UCSB Chicano Studies Institute invites applications for funding for graduate students engaged in research addressing topics related to the Latino population in the United States. Awards are for up to $3,000 for a twelve-month period beginning from the date the funds are awarded. The application deadline is May 11, 2018.

The Society for American Music is dedicated to the study, teaching, creation and dissemination of all musics in the Americas. Upcoming fellowship opportunities include dissertation and independent research. Earliest deadline is July 1, 2018.

The Lindros Award is a one-year grant of $10,000 for a proposal translating research into medical practice. Graduate students and post-doctoral scholars are welcome to apply. Deadline is June 8, 2018.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grants (DDRIG) are grant awards up to $20,000 for doctoral students to improve the quality of dissertation research. Earliest deadline is June 15, 2018.

Graduate students or postdocs interested in life/health sciences, imaging physics, and biomedical engineering and seeking experience in clinical/translational science training should consider applying to The Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) Translational Research in Multi-Disciplinary Program (TRIUMPH). Deadline is June 30, 2018.

The Livermore Graduate Scholar Program (LGSP) grants top Ph.D. students appointments of up to four years to conduct research of interest to the Laboratory while completing their thesis.

The Guru Gobind Singh Fellowship was established to support graduates of universities in a specific area of India and Pakistan for the purpose of pursuing graduate study at the University of California. Work with your faculty advisor to submit a nomination by the May 5, 2018 deadline.

The Jangseogak Archives at the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) is accepting applications for short-term (three to six months) research fellowships for international scholars of Korean studies. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2018.

An information session will be held on April 17 to share about the opportunity with The Schwarzman Scholars Program in Tsinghua University. The program selects up to 200 Scholars annually from around the world to live in Beijing for a year of study and cultural immersion, attending lectures, traveling and developing first-hand exposure to China, its people and a global group of promising leaders.

Deadlines are Friday, April 13th 2018 for Major Grants and Friday, May 18th 2018 for Minor Grants.
