OVERVIEW
The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) provides funding for projects which "green" our campus and reduce the University's impact on the environment. Since this student-funded initiative began over ten years ago, TGIF has advanced over 100 projects that increase the amount of renewable energy used on campus, increase water and energy efficiency, and reduce waste at the University.

TGIF is a student-governed grant supported by a $3.47 lock-in fee that every UCSB undergraduate and graduate student pays each quarter. It raises over $170,000 per year to fund projects that reduce UCSB's impact on the environment. Any UCSB student, staff, or faculty member is eligible to apply for funding for their projects. Ideal projects will show a quantifiable change (energy, waste, water reduction, etc.) while also educating the campus community.

TGIF is now soliciting proposals for funding cycle 2021-22. You may download the 2021-22 Funding Application, the Sample Timeline and the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Spreadsheet for use in preparing your application. All final applications must be submitted to jewelpersad@ucsb.edu by 5 p.m. on Feb 4th, 2022.
