OVERVIEW
The Open Philanthropy Project is pleased to announce the Open Phil AI Fellowship, which will support a small group of the most promising full-time PhD students in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Fellows will be selected based on their academic excellence, technical knowledge, and interest in increasing the probability of positive outcomes from transformative AI. The AI Fellows have a broad mandate to think through which kinds of AI and ML research are likely to be most valuable, to share ideas and form a community with like-minded students and professors, and ultimately to act in the way that they think is most likely to improve outcomes from progress in AI. The Open Phil AI Fellowship is open to students interested in any research topic within AI.

AWARD
Fellows receive a $40,000 stipend, $10,000 in research support, and payment of tuition and fees, each year, starting in the year of their selection until the end of the 5th year of their PhD.
