ACLS opens second round of Leading Edge Fellowship Competition for recent PhDs

OVERVIEW
The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) has announced the new Leading Edge Fellowship program, which aims to demonstrate the potential of people with advanced degrees in the humanities and humanistic social sciences to solve problems outside the academy. In the first cycle of the fellowship competition, ACLS seeks applications from recent PhDs in art and architectural history and related fields who seek to help communities respond to issues caused by the Covid-19 crisis and advance public understanding of the pandemic. All fellowships starting in 2020 will be held remotely.

Each applicant may apply for up to two of the available Leading Edge Fellowship opportunities listed below.

AWARD
$60,000 plus health insurance and professional development funding.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Must have a PhD that was/will be conferred by their universities between September 1, 2016 and December 31, 2020.
  • Must be authorized to work legally in the United States for the entire duration of the fellowship term. Neither ACLS nor the host organization can sponsor fellows for visas.
