OVERVIEW
The UCSB Center for Black Studies Research (CBSR) is pleased to announce the call for its Graduate Student Grant Program, to enrich the quality of interdisciplinary research in Black studies, Afro-diasporic studies, and/or racial comparative scholarship in Black Studies.
ELIGIBILITY
Graduate students at UCSB are eligible to submit proposals for dissertation research. The graduate student must be advanced to candidacy for the research doctorate before funding can be released. Priority is given to those who have not received a previous CBSR Grant.
BUDGETS AND ALLOWABLE EXPENSES
Awards of up to $1,500 will be provided. Allowable expenses include: research assistance by UCSB graduate or undergraduate students; travel for data collection, field work, archival research, or collaborative research meetings; transcribing; research expenses, supplies, and services; computing accessories; and small equipment purchases. Items that will not be funded include: salaries to Principal Investigator, other academic salaries, and conference travel. Principal Investigator will receive the funds in the form of a stipend, administered by the CBSR.
TIMELINE FOR PROPOSED WORK
The grant provides funding for work for the period of July 1, 2018, through December 31, 2019.
