You are invited to join the Support Network for Undocumented Students: a list of staff, faculty, and graduate students who support undocumented students. This list is intended to serve as a directory and resource for undocumented students and allies. The list will be public on ​the Undocumented Student Services (USS) website for community to access​. Sign up by January 22!

The Graduate Division sent out a message containing important UCPath reminders for faculty, staff, student workers, and academic personnel. Read on for information regarding how to sign up for your electronic W-2, how to update your personal information in UCPath, and how to access online UCPath demonstrations.

There are a range of employment visas, as well as U.S. permanent resident statuses, that can allow you to work in the U.S. after you finish your program at UCSB. On January 18, join immigration law specialist Adam Green, a practicing attorney in the Los Angeles area, for a free workshop on employment immigration issues, particularly the transition from student statuses to employment statuses.

The Art & Architecture Seminar Room at the UCSB Library is now available as study space for UCSB faculty and graduate students, who will be able to enter the room by swiping their access cards using the newly installed card reader at the southwest entrance to the room. The room will be accessible for study after regular business hours. Read on for more details.

Mark your calendars! This year, the Graduate Division Commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, June 14th at 1 p.m. on the Commencement Green. This is a departure from previous years, when it has been held on Sunday at 4 p.m., and means that the spring filing deadline will be extended to Tuesday, June 18th. Read on for additional information!

The UCSB Library is currently open and operating on recess hours, but will close this weekend for winter break. 24/7 online access to research databases, electronic journals, and e-books is available to UCSB students, faculty, and staff during the closure. Want to learn more about preventing diabetes? Check out the UCSB Diabetes Prevention Program. This is a free year-long program for individuals who are pre-diabetic or at risk of developing type 2 diabetes. By joining, you get access to information on diabetes related topics, a lifestyle coach, and group support. Attend an information session on December 12 and read on for application details.

UCSB Arts ​& Lectures is offering graduate students free tickets to see the Kronos Quartet! A response to the 2017 executive orders limiting travel to the U.S., Music for Change highlights the rich diversity of artistic voices from the original seven “banned countries.” On December 4, the Grammy Award-winning ensemble will perform a new program featuring music from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Get your tickets today!

Do you like free pizza? Would you like to learn more about the resources the UCSB library has to offer and chat with one of the UCSB Librarians? UCSB students are invited to join University Librarian Kristin Antelman for pizza and an open student forum on November 28 to chat about the UCSB Library. Space is limited.

Interested in becoming a Resident Assistant (RA) in San Clemente Villages (graduate apartments) next year? Do you want to be a resource for the graduate community? Perks include housing and a monthly stipend. The online application is now open and will close on January 28, 2019. To find out more, come to the RA Info Session on Thursday, November 29, at 7pm in the San Clemente Center.

Campus Advocacy, Resources, & Education (CARE) is seeking graduate student ambassadors to serve as representatives to facilitate various awareness programs for the UCSB community. Ambassadors will work with CARE, their student organizations, and/or departments to share resources with peers and collaborate on educational events. The application deadline is November 19, 2018.

On Thursday, November 8, Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall will host "Virtues of Martial Arts: Traditional Wisdom for Improving Wellness," a Kung Fu demonstration, lecture, and Q&A session by Youfu Li, Ph.D., Martial Arts Master, Doctor of Chinese Medicine.

Join the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at UCSB and UC-Mexicanistas for their 22​nd annual colloquium on Mexican Literature (Nov 8-10). This three day event includes opportunities to hear from renowned writers, professors from Mexico, the U.S., and Europe, as well as performances and cultural activities. Events on all three days are free and open to the public.

Join UCSB's Queer and Trans Graduate Student Union on November 16 for "Envisioning LGBTQIA+ Wellbeing," an interdisciplinary conference. Come learn about research being conducted across disciplines by and for the LGBTQIA+ community. Lunch is provided for those who RSVP!

On Saturday, November 3rd, celebrate Día de Los Muertos with Casa de la Raza and the Santa Barbara community. There will be music, ofrendas, comida, dance, honoring, and love!
