Fabio Ricci, Grad Slam People's Choice winner and PhD student in Mathematics, would like to offer the following invitation to UCSB graduate students:

"Ciao a tutti,

We, a few math graduate students (especially the Italian ones), would like to invite you to a special very applied fluid dynamic seminar. In this prestigious seminar our research interests lie in the specific case of solution composed by approximately 95% water, we would like to propose an interdisciplinary joint experiment of slightly changing the UCSB slogan: "let there be light."

Friday June 2nd: 7PM at Draughtsmen Aleworks- GOLETA. 53 Santa Felicia Dr, Goleta, CA 93117

Speakers: Fabio Ricci and Joel C. Pion

Title: "Let there be beer"

Abstract: In this joint talk we will introduce some basic tools in computational applied fluid mechanics. These are important results that come from classical mechanics and fluctuating hydrodynamics. We will keep our talk in the setting of solutions composed of 94% water, I really recommend the study of the Nama Biru effect, it is surprising what can happen when Oriza Sativa or Oriza Glaberrima encounter diastatic malt and some water.

Hope to see you all there,

Fabio Ricci and Joel C.Pion

PS Feel free to also bring +1's, pets and dinosaurs. This is an opportunity to hang out all together at Draughtsmen Aleworks in Goleta as we have reserved a spot there.

PPS: Note there is no cost to attend this event. However, if you want to contribute to the science fund for this event (whether or not you are coming): Please Venmo at @VeryAppFluids"
