The Bren Environmental Justice Club is hosting the 5th Annual Environmental Justice Symposium on May 18-19, 2023, and they seek participants and flash talk applications from the UCSB graduate community.
This year's symposium theme is "Decolonizing Environmental Science" and will include flash talks, two panels, a keynote speaker, and a reception. This hybrid event runs May 18-19. May 18 will be virtual on Zoom and include flash talk presentations and a career panel! May 19 will occur in person at Bren Hall 1414 at the UC Santa Barbara campus with a remote Zoom option and will feature the keynote speaker, a panel discussion on decolonizing environmental science, and a reception. Flash talks can be given by individuals from any institution, so please share this opportunity with people in your network who you think might be interested!
Flash talks can be from any person who has an interest in EJ. The only requirement is that it has to be 4 minutes and a topic on EJ. At the end of the flash attendees can vote on their favorites and the winners will receive a gift card (1st place: $150; 2nd place: $100; 3rd place: $50!
