Are you ready to take a peek and vote for your favorite science and engineering research inspired art? The seventh annual Art of Science Competition is excited to unveil 42 entries that share a visual story of creativity and discovery at UCSB. You're invited to cast your vote for the entries that best capture your imagination and convey their meaning through the aesthetic. Winners will be announced and awarded prizes at the Art of Science Reception on March 12, 4-5 p.m. at Elings first floor lobby. Winning images will be awarded various prizes and become part of exhibits at the MOXI and UCSB Library and other venues.

Note: Voting closes on March 5. Click here to vote.

Art of Science is an event to capture the imagination and share the beauty and meaning of scientific discovery. UCSB undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs were all invited to tell the story of their research through the aesthetic. These works of art go on to share the creative nature and joy of scientific discovery with our community through multiple exhibits and outreach events throughout 2019. Since 2014, the annual competition winning pieces have been on exhibit at the UCSB Library; MOXI; the Santa Barbara Museum of Art; and the UCSB Art, Design and Architecture Museum.

This event is hosted by the Schuller Lab, the Center for Science and Engineering Partnerships at the California Nanosystems Institute, the College of Creative Studies, and the UCSB Library. For any questions, please contact Arica LubinWendy Ibsen, or Jon Schuller.
