As part of their Wednesday evening film series, the UCSB Multicultural Center will screen "Latino: The Changing Face of America" on February 15, from 6-7 p.m. in the MCC Theater.

Writer and director Roxanne Frias, previously known for her documentary "Made in Chicago: The Making of Barack Obama," wanted to create a film that acknowledges the important role Latinos have played in U.S. history while also not being embraced by America like previous immigrants. As the Latinx population in the U.S. continues to grow, it has become clear that elections, as well as the social and political fabric of this nation, have become a key point of involvement for many Latinx communities. Through this film, Frias also explores the influence on U.S. identity and economy that Latinx communities have already made.
