UCSB's Student Mental Health Coordination Services, in conjunction with the Office of Instructional Development, is offering a virtual workshop on April 6 from 3-4:15pm for all TAs: "Responding to Distressed & Distressing Students."

From the organizers: "Working with students who are in distress and/or potentially distressing to others can add a significant amount of time and energy to an already busy role of being a TA. In this workshop, you will learn how to partner with campus resources to create a safety net of support for students who may be significantly struggling with academics, financial concerns, health/wellness issues, and interpersonal difficulties. Come learn how to recognize common signs of a student in distress/student distressing others, how to respond, and how to refer to the appropriate campus resources."

Register for this workshop via Shoreline.
