The Coolest Career You've (probably) Never Heard Of! (UCI)

Attendance is open to graduate students of any discipline.

If you think the California State Auditor's Office is all about taxes and numbers, think again! The office serves multiple functions within state government and the work is nearly identical to the accounting and consulting work done at the Big Four firms.

There are two career pathways within the audit division: Financial Auditing and Performance/Policy Evaluation. The financial audits cover some of the most significant financial statements in the world valued in the hundreds of billions of dollars and the Performance/Policy Evaluation is akin to management consulting. All of the work is project-based and spans a variety of relevant and fascinating public policy issues.
