The Graduate Student Association is currently hiring a Lounge Staff member to facilitate the overall operation and maintenance of the GSA lounge. This position allows graduate students to gain a unique knowledge of graduate student government. Salary is $15/hour and time commitment is 5-15 hours/week.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Graduate Student Association Lounge Staff facilitates the overall operation and maintenance of the GSA lounge. The staff member must be a UCSB graduate. The GSA looks for staff employees who are personable and professional. They also hope that staff employees will take an interest in the affairs and goals of the GSA. The GSA staff position allows graduate students to gain a unique knowledge of graduate student government. The GSA lounge staff position is responsible for the following:
- Maintain daily up-keep of the GSA lounge (make coffee, clean and organize the lounge space, etc.)
- Provide hospitality and service during GSA events and additional quarterly events
- Provide information to graduate students regarding the GSA resources
ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- Punctuality and organization
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Self-initiative and willingness to follow through on tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to take direction and complete tasks efficiently and effectively
SALARY AND TIME COMMITMENT
- $15 per hour
- 5-15 hours/week
