The LISC LA Digital Accelerator 7 week consulting program aims to double the revenue of Black, LatinX, Indigenous, and other SMEs. This program empowers business owners to leverage digital tools and pursue new opportunities to become more competitive. Learn how to be a consultant, receive professional consulting training & certification, and apply the training to a real consulting project to learn by doing. Program runs from October 18 - December 3. Last date to Apply is October 4. Info sessions are on September 27 & October 4.
LISC LA, in partnership with the IXL center, is launching a 7 week Digital Accelerator program in October to support BIPOC owned small businesses transform their digital strategy and tools. They are interested in engaging UCSB students who are interested in working directly with small businesses in the LA area. This program aims to double the revenue of Black, LatinX, Indigenous, and other SMEs to help close the wealth gap caused by racial inequity. This program empowers business owners to leverage digital tools and pursue new opportunities to become more competitive. The program leverages consulting teams and digital tools to empower Black, LatinX, Indigenous, and other small businesses to strengthen their core business, grow their capacity, and double their revenue.
They have a proven a proven methodology and experienced consultants that deliver results. Every consulting team works virtually one-on-one with small, local business to build an actionable implementation plan for their client. The program is delivered 100% virtually.
Through this program students will:

Help a local business and learn about day-to-day business operations

Learn how to be an SME consultant & become job-ready

Receive professional consulting training & certification

Apply the training to a real consulting project to learn by doing

Receive weekly mentorship from experienced IXL consultants

Access a network of consultants, experts, business owners, & alumni
Structure of the 7 week program:

1 Week - Analyze the Business: Analyze the current business to identify gaps and potential opportunities.

2 Weeks - Improve Current Business: Improve the business by generating digital solutions to resolve business pain points

2 Weeks - Create New Offerings: Expand the business by developing new revenue streams and capabilities

2 Weeks - Drive Sales: Drive sales by developing a clear digital sales and communication plan
Students are expected to adhere to certain roles and responsibilities:

Commit 10-15 hours per team per week

Deliver an actionable implementation plan to the client

Always maintain confidentiality of client data and be professional

Attend all key meetings

Work hard, be curious, & actively participate

The next LISC Digital Accelerator cohort will kickoff on October 18, 2021 and end on December 3, 2021. Students will need to be available to get onboarded on Oct 11th.
