ComSciCon is announcing a new series called ComSciConcepts to tackle specific subjects in science communication. The first will be ComSciConcepts: Combatting COVID with Black Communities, held remotely on Wednesday, June 2nd at 9:00am PST.
This workshop will build on ComSciCon's existing infrastructure of training graduate student science communicators by providing the latest information on COVID-19 in Black communities, resources on the systemic inequities that lead to this racial disparity in healthcare, and training on science communication and building trust with Black communities. The workshop will also provide funding and further support to projects of attendees that address these issues directly. Application, registration, and attendance at the workshop is free of charge for accepted applicants, and attendees are required to attend the entire workshop.

What is ComsciCon?
ComSciCon is a series of workshops focused on the communication of complex and technical concepts organized by graduate students, for graduate students. ComSciCon attendees meet and interact with professional communicators, build lasting networks with graduate students in all fields of science and engineering from across the US and Canada, and write and publish original works.
