Instructional Media Designer

UC Santa Barbara's ​Office of Instructional Consultation is hiring an Instructional Media Designer for the summer/fall.

The Instructional Media Designer will work collaboratively with the Office of Instructional Consultation to support a variety of projects and programs related to pedagogical training and support for UCSB faculty and teaching assistants.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Curate and update infographics, videos, animations, text, and interactive websites for digital distribution of instructional/pedagogical training materials for campus-wide training programs.
  • Develop resources in a variety of formats to support online and blended course offerings.
  • Develop instructional materials for the web that are functional, informative, and consistent using graphic design and multimedia principles.
  • Consult on structuring and/or evaluating OIC training programs.

Desired skills and qualifications include coursework and/or demonstrated experience with:

  • Graphic design for print and web, video, and/or multimedia production.
  • Developing instructional materials.
  • Instructional technologies and pedagogy in Higher Ed.

The Instructional Media Designer will be supervised by the Instructional Consultants and may work with other Instructional Development staff, faculty, TAs, and other academic units. This position is paid as an hourly Student Assistant appointment at $21/hour. ​They expect the student to work at least 10 hours/week through Summer and Fall quarters.
