Please see the following announcements related to updates for the 2019-20 UCSB Individualized Professional Skills Program.

At this time, all previously scheduled Meet & Eat events have been postponed until further notice due to precautions surrounding COVID-19.

For Prospective Applicants

If you are interested in applying for an IPS grant, please note the following:

  • Due to university travel restrictions surrounding COVID-19, no awards will be made for in-person opportunities taking place before the end of spring quarter. If you would like to apply for an in-person opportunity that is scheduled to take place after spring quarter, it will be reviewed according to the program selection criteria and, if appropriate, awarded on a provisional basis contingent upon the lifting of travel restrictions for university-related business.
  • The IPS Program welcomes applications for opportunities that are facilitated virtually, such as online trainings and certification programs. We encourage potential applicants to explore the various free online training resources available to them through the university first (such as LinkedIn Learning for all UC employees) before applying for IPS. All applications for virtual opportunities will be reviewed by the same selection criteria as other applications.

For Current Awardees

We understand that many of our current awardees may be dealing with changes, cancellations, or postponements of their IPS-funded opportunities due to travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. IPS program organizers have reached out directly to these awardees to discuss options for continuing to support their career development needs and ensuring the integrity of the IPS Program. If you are a current awardee and have any questions, you can contact Arica Lubin at alubin@ucsb.edu.

Please refer to campus updates on travel and other relevant procedural changes for further guidance:

Please check the IPS webpage and forthcoming announcements for updates to the program as we make plans for the coming months.
