The Gevirtz Graduate School of Education (GGSE) ​​invites graduate students to join colleagues from Lithuania ​(in​cluding GGSE alum Audra Skukauskaitė) for free lunch and an ​exciting learning opportunity on transforming Health Sciences in Higher Education. This is a unique opportunity for those interested in Global Education initiatives.

These scholars have been introducing and building a program of research to transform how their university educates students about working with people with disabilities. They will present on a four-year project funded by the European Union. It has involved life histories and will involve studies of higher education programs in Health Sciences. This should be of interest to students and faculty who are interested in higher education, disabilities research, and global studies.

The presenting researchers have been developing Lithuanian scholars' understanding of qualitative research perspectives - life histories, writing qualitative research in international journals, discourse analysis, ethnography, qualitative traditions, as well as surveys and other forms of mixed methods, which they will speak about during their talk. Please join GGSE for this opportunity to learn with senior research leaders abroad about the directions of global research.

About the Speakers
Dr. Audra Skukauskaitė, an alumna of the Gevirtz School (Ph.D. '06), is an independent researcher and research consultant for the Lemelson-MIT program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a senior researcher at Klaipeda University, Lithuania. Dr. Liudmila Rupšienė is professor and senior researcher at the Faculty of the Social Sciences, department of Pedagogy at Klaipėda University. Dr. Ingrida Baranauskienė is a professor and senior researcher at the Faculty of Health Sciences of Klaipėda University (Lithuania).
