Cheer on UCSB champion in system-wide Grad Slam competition on May 10

George DegenNext week, UCSB will send its 2019 Grad Slam champion, ​George Degen from Chemical Engineering, up to San Fransisco to compete against 9 other UC finalists ​in the 5th annual UC systemwide Grad Slam tournament on Friday, May 10, from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

And it's not just ​bragging rights that are ​at stake: the grand prize winner will receive $5,000, with $2,000 and $1,000 prizes for the runners-up. There will also be a People's Choice vote, and the winner of that will receive $1,000 – so be sure to tune in to the live-stream coverage of the event and vote for ​George! Voting will be open for approximately 20 minutes immediately following the talks. More information on how to view and vote will be available here once the competition starts.
