The Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies awards postdoctoral fellowships to research Chinese Studies and reside at Harvard in Massachusetts for 1 year. Well-designed projects at any stage, from initial research to revision for publication, are welcome. Research topics can be about any time period in China, including modern-day, and may be from any academic area. During the award, Fellows will reside in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where Harvard University is located. Fellows can work on getting ready for publication and submit their work to the publications program of the Harvard University Asia Center.

CITIZENSHIP
No citizenship requirements

ELIGIBILITY
Must have received Ph.D. within the last five years. Applicants who are not native speakers of English must include the date and score of the most recent TOEFL examination or other evidence of proficiency in English. Priority given to candidates with no previous postdoctoral fellowships.

STIPEND
$50,000 for one year
