​OVERVIEW
Applicants to the California Alliance Postdoctoral Fellowship Program are afforded the extraordinary opportunity of being considered by all four California Alliance institutions, and may also be considered by the affiliated national laboratories, by submitting one application for consideration for a postdoctoral appointment at any of the ​four institutions. The California Alliance is committed to placing the most qualified and talented individuals in postdoctoral appointments at these premier institutions. With the goal of developing the next generation of diverse leaders in the mathematical, physical, and computer sciences, and in engineering, the California Alliance strives to advance postdoctoral fellows through cutting-edge research and professional development.

​AWARD
The California Alliance anticipates appointing up to 8 Postdoctoral Fellows for 2 years who will be appointed by an individual institution or by a national laboratory. Yearly stipends vary from $55,000-$70,000 depending upon the field. Additional funding will be provided for travel and research expenses. Appointees will receive medical benefits, paid vacation, and sick leave. Professional development opportunities include the annual Spring California Alliance Retreat and Mentor Matching Program. The California Alliance is a partner of the University of California President's Postdoctoral Program.

​ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a field within the mathematical, physical, and computer sciences, or engineering from an accredited university prior to beginning their fellowship tenure. Applicants must also belong to an underrepresented minority group and be a US citizen.
