The UC Office of the President is accepting applications for these $12,000 fellowships through May 25.

On May 2, the University of California announced the launch of a pilot program to foster the next generation of leaders who are passionate about improving public health and combating the adverse effects of tobacco products. Four UC Smoke and Tobacco-Free Student Fellowships of $12,000 each will be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing research or projects aimed at reducing the health hazards of smoke and tobacco on campuses. These fellowships require the students to conduct a one-year project, beginning on July 1, 2016, as well as meet regularly with a faculty mentor.

Eligibility: All undergraduate and graduate students enrolled full-time at a UC campus

Award: $12,000​

​Deadline: May 25 at noon

Fellowship duration: July 1, 2016 - June 30, 2017
