Looking to find community on campus? The Graduate Student Organization Series features profiles of social, professional, and affinity groups for graduate students.

This article features the Queer and Trans Graduate Student Union (QTGSU).

MISSION

The Queer and Trans Graduate Student Union (QTGSU) was founded in spring 2018 in response to a need for a queer and trans organization specifically tailored to graduate students. The QTGSU provides community, mentorship, advocacy, and professional development opportunities for LGTBQIA+ graduate students at UCSB. It advocates for the rights and well-being of LGBTQIA+ identified students on campus and works to foster ties with the greater Santa Barbara community.

ACTIVITIES

QTGSU holds many events each quarter that range from social to professional development. Past events have included research festivals, coffee hours, social gatherings, townhalls, and game nights.
