The 6th annual Art of Science competition is now open for submissions!

The Art of Science initiative invites current UCSB undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs to tell the story of their research through the aesthetic. Whether it be striking spectroscopic images of a new material, data from a series of simulations, interesting photos of a device or instrument, or some other aspect of research captured visually, the initiative invites you to share it.

The competition is hosted by The Schuller Lab, the Center for Science and Engineering Partnerships at the California Nanosystems Institute, the College of Creative Studies, and the UCSB Library. Since 2014, the annual competitions have seen over 100 submissions, with winning pieces on exhibit at the UCSB Library, MOXI, UCSB Art, Design and Architecture Museum, and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. We look forward to these works of art sharing the creativity and joy of discovery with our community.
