The UCSB Art Department is pleased to announce an MFA Open Studio reception and accompanying exhibition featuring sculpture, photography, installation, video, and painting created by the 1st and 2nd year MFA student cohorts. Open Studio will be held on Friday, November 2, from 5-10pm at Harder Studios.

The UCSB Art Department is pleased to announce an MFA Open Studio reception and accompanying exhibition featuring sculpture, photography, installation, video​, and painting created by the 1st and 2nd year MFA student cohorts.

Open Studio will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 5-10pm at Harder Studios on the campus of UCSB. Admission to the happening is free and open to the public. Harder Stadium is located at Building 580, University of California, Santa Barbara, Stadium Rd, Santa Barbara, CA 93106. The Department of Art Graduate Studios are located beneath the bleachers closest to Stadium Rd. The entrance can be found on the eastern side of the bleachers-wayfinding signage will be visible on the day of the happening. Ticketed parking is available in Lot 30 across the street from the Stadium.

The Department of Art at the University of California Santa Barbara is committed to a transdisciplinary approach to arts education. The arts are responsible for some of the most historically significant and enduring manifestations of culture. At UCSB, artists are provided with the necessary resources to develop their practice and contribute to the social fabric of their time.

Artists include: Serene Blumenthal, Kio Griffith, Maiza Hixson, Madeleine Eve Ignon, Adam Jahnke, Megan Koth, Kayla Mattes, Elisa Ortega Montilla, Andrew Morrison, Marshall Sharpe, Thomas Stoeckinger, Echo Theohar, Christopher Velasco and David Wesley White.
