The Office of International Students & Scholars would like students to be aware of closures, delays in processing times, and limited appointment availability for the next two weeks, beginning September 18.
UCSB's Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) would like to inform students about closures, delays in processing times, and limited appointment availability in order to orient and check-in the 2017/18 incoming international class. Please find the office schedule for the next two weeks below.
Monday, September 18 through Monday, September 25
Expect 1-week delays in processing times for requests such as extensions, CPT, and OPT
Monday and Tuesday, September 18 and September 19
No advising appointment availability unless the request is time-sensitive or an emergency
Wednesday, September 20
Open 10 a.m.-noon and closed in the afternoon. No walk-in appointments.
Thursday, September 21
Closed all day for orientation
Friday, September 22
Closed all day for orientation
Monday, September 25
Closed all day for orientation
Tuesday, September 26 through Friday, September 29
Open 10 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. No walk-in appointments or advising appointments unless the request is time-sensitive or an emergency.
Monday, October 2 through Friday, October 6
Open 10 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. Walk-in advising available all week to assist with the beginning of the academic year. No advance appointments needed during this week.
Regarding OPT: Students applying for OPT are advised to reference the OPT Tutorial PowerPoint on the OISS website to complete the application. Once you have read the tutorial and assembled a complete OPT application, please turn it in to the OISS front desk for review and processing.
