On Wednesday, February 20, Academic Advisors from the Graduate Division will be available to meet with students individually to conduct formatting pre-checks and answer questions about the process of filing a master’s thesis, doctoral dissertation, or DMA supporting document. Individual sessions are available between 9-11am.

Prior to attending the session, you are required to:

  1. Watch the Formatting Overview video (8 min).

  2. Watch the Thesis/dissertation filing and the awarding of your degree video (12 min).

  3. Review the Step-by-Step-FILING-TUTORIAL PDF.

  4. Review the Graduate Division’s website on Filing Your Thesis, Dissertation, or DMA Supporting Document.

  5. Compile all of your questions.

  6. If you are ready for an advisor to conduct a pre-check of your document, you must bring printed copies of preliminary pages and at least one chapter (along with any other pages you want checked) for an advisor to review.

Ryan Sims, the Graduate Division Academic Counselor will be hosting a resource table that includes information about how he supports our graduate students, interdisciplinary emphases, career guides, and other campus resources.

Even if you can’t attend the session, you are encouraged to review the above resources, contact an Academic Services staff member if you have questions, or drop in to the Graduate Division for a pre-check during our regular business hours.

The Graduate Division looks forward to helping you through this process!
