The University of California Graduate and Professional Council (UCGPC) is inviting applications for the paid positions of Director of Legislative Affairs, Director of Campaigns, and Director of Outreach. The UCGPC is the graduate student body that advocates for the interests of all graduate students from the UC system. The University of California Graduate and Professional Council (UCGPC) is inviting applications for paid appointed positions. The UCGPC is the graduate student body that advocates for the interests of all graduate students from the UC system. Each campus is represented on this board by their GSA VPs for External Affairs.

UCGPC is currently taking applications to fill the positions of Director of Legislative Affairs, Director of Campaigns, and Director of Outreach.

The positions are paid $200 per month and offer a wealth of experience in supporting student advocacy and understanding the UC bureaucratic system. Click on the links below for a full job description and to apply.

Director of Legislative Affairs: Oversee the establishment and implementation of the Legislative Affairs policy agenda; provide updates and recommendations to the Council on legislative developments; hold regular meetings with appropriate staff in order to advance the legislative agenda; liaise with the California legislature and relevant policy makers to promote the Council's agenda. Responsibilities include biweekly executive committee meetings and monthly board meetings. They will report to the President.

Director of Campaigns: Maintain and ensure the efforts and direction of UCGPC's advocacy efforts by engaging in research of and presentations for advocacy initiatives; generate the campus and systemwide informational material necessary for effective advocacy; advise on the strategy for advocacy in partnership with the other members of the executive team. Responsibilities include biweekly executive committee meetings and monthly board meetings. They will report to the Chair.

Director of Outreach: Maintain robust relationships between UCGPC, campus-based organizations, and relevant partners to advance UCGPC's annual advocacy agenda. Responsibilities include biweekly executive committee meetings and monthly board meetings. They will report to the Vice Chair.
