Do you have an interest in helping junior high students and families gain familiarity with science and its importance in education? Would you like an easy way to get involved and give back to the local community? Are you looking for ways to increase your science communication opportunities outside the university? Then volunteer for Family Ultimate Science Exploration (FUSE), a program for underrepresented students and their families to gain familiarity with the practice of science, its importance in education, and its promise of exciting career options.
Training for the FUSE program is scheduled for Thursday, October 3, 6:00-7:30pm in 1605 Elings Hall. Pizza will be provided.
Please RSVP HERE to indicate if you can attend, the activities you are most interested in, and which evening programs you would like to join! This year âFUSE will be creating Kelp Beads (Marine Biology/Materials), engineering Light Pipes (Photonics Society collaboration), and generating Air Vortices (Physics/Mechanics Engineering).
