The GSA Lounge is hiring! The Graduate Student Association Lounge Staff facilitates the overall operation and maintenance of the GSA lounge. This position gives graduate students an opportunity to gain a unique knowledge of graduate student government. Read on to learn more!
The GSA Lounge is looking to hire a few extra people as soon as possible! Learn about the GSA Lounge by visiting their website or stopping by the lounge on the 2nd floor of the MultiCultural Center.
Job Description:
The Graduate Student Association Lounge Staff facilitates the overall operation and maintenance of the GSA lounge. The staff member must be a UCSB graduate. The GSA looks for staff employees who are personable and professional. We also hope that our staff employees will take an interest in the affairs and goals of the GSA. The GSA staff position gives graduate students an opportunity to gain a unique knowledge of graduate student government.
The GSA lounge staff position is responsible for the following:
• Maintain daily up-keep of the GSA lounge (make coffee, clean and organize the lounge space, etc.)
• Provide hospitality and service during GSA events (particularly during the GSA weekly bagel hour and additional quarterly events)
• Provide information to graduate students regarding the GSA resources
Additional Skills Required:
• Punctuality and organization
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• Self-initiative and willingness to follow through on tasks
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to take direction and complete tasks efficiently and effectively
Salary: $13 per hour
Time Commitment: 5-15 hours/week
