NextProf Nexus is a three-day workshop that gives participants a candid view of academic life along with the tools and network to support their success. NextProf Nexus is a three-day workshop that gives participants a candid view of academic life along with the tools and network to support their success. Each workshop brings together a select cohort of diverse engineering PhD students, recent doctoral graduates, and top faculty and deans from around the U.S. for three days of learning and interacting with peers and mentors. Over the course of three days, participants will:

  • Learn about the faculty search process
  • Prepare for the academic job market
  • Plan for the rigors of first faculty positions
  • Understand how to build a successful research program
  • Discuss the importance of equity and inclusion in academia ​

NextProf workshops have established a reputation as preeminent events in a revitalized nation-wide effort to strengthen and diversify the next generation of academic leaders.
