UCSB's Department of Sociology will hire three Teaching Assistants for Spring 2018 to teach Introduction to Sociology, Sociology of Culture, and Sociology of Law. Interested students should send a copy of resume or CV to Erika Klukovich for consideration purposes.

The Department has openings for Teaching Assistants in the following courses:

SOC 1: Introduction to Sociology
Lecture: Tues/Thurs, 9:30-10:45 a.m. (plus 3 sections, 2 hours per week of office hours)
Instructor: Lisa Hajjar
Description: Basic concepts and issues in the study of human society; the structures and processes of human conduct, social organization, and social change.
Appointment: 50% TAship

SOC 118C: Sociology of Culture
Lecture: Tues/Thurs, 9:30-10:45 a.m. (no sections, 2 hours per week of office hours)
Instructor: John Cruz
Description: A broad introduction to the sociological study of culture, organized around theoretical perspectives, definitional and analytical problems, the production of culture, and cultural effects on society
Appointment: 50% TAship

SOC 173: Sociology of Law
Lecture: Tues/Thurs, 8-9:15 a.m. (no sections, 2 hours per week of office hours)
Instructor: Gordon Abra
Description: Study of the social and cultural factors underlying the development, maintenance, and change of legal structures and processes, and analysis of theories of jurisprudence.
Appointment: 50% TAship
