The NC State University Building Future Faculty (BFF) Program is a two-and-half day all-expenses-paid workshop for doctoral students and post-doctoral scholars who are interested in pursuing academic careers and who are committed to promoting diversity in higher education. The program is targeted to graduate students who are in the dissertation phase or post-doctoral.

These workshops provide students the opportunity to attend sessions and presentations where they interact with current faculty, learn about life as a faculty member, and receive information on the application process. Additionally, students will be partnered with an academic department that matches their discipline. Students will have an opportunity to tour the academic department, research facilities, and meet with current students and faculty members.

The application deadline for 2018 is Sunday, November 12, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. The 2018 Building Future Faculty program will be held on Wednesday, March 14 - Friday, March 16, 2018. Graduate students and post doctoral scholars from groups that are underrepresented in their disciplines are encouraged to apply.
