Are you interested in sharing your expertise and love of science with the Santa Barbara community?

Every second Monday of the month, the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and Dargan's Santa Barbara hosts an evening dining & lecture event called Science Pub. The Museum invites a science professional to come and give a short 45- to 60-minute talk about a science topic. This topic should be accessible and appealing to the general public of Santa Barbara.

After the speaker finishes, the audience has approximately 45 minutes to ask questions that are relevant to the subject. The atmosphere is informal yet quite delightful and fun; and there is always a full crowd (~130 people)! Since this is a free-to-the-public event, there is no honorarium for the speaker. However, a meal and beverages before or after the presentation are provided.

Check out the upcoming summer and fall series to get a better idea of the program.

If you would like to be a speaker, answer the following series of questions:

A.) What is your area of expertise?

B.) Ideas that you would have for a topic.

C.) What you represent (college, institution, science professional at ... etc.)

D.) Any other information you feel is relevant

E.) If you can attend a future Science Pub.

Potential speakers' should attend at least one Science Pub in advance to get a feel for what the evening is like.
