Wouldn't it be great if you could practice interviewing before actually trying to land that dream job? Want to discover careers you will be qualified for that you might have never even considered before? Luckily for you, non-academic professionals with science backgrounds are joining faculty from UCSB for a day of mock interviews to help you sharpen your interviewing game, market skills gained as a graduate student, and broaden your career horizons!

Mock Interviews Workshop
May 4, 3-7 p.m.
MSRB, Room 1302
Sign up for the event here

This event is hosted by UCSB's Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology Graduate Student Advisory Council. Student participants will receive brief descriptions typical of M.S. or Ph.D. entry-level jobs and postdocs beforehand, and during the event will be interviewed for a variety of positions. Interviews will be short (a few minutes for questions followed by written self- and interviewer-evaluations), and they will rotate students through as many interviews as possible in the time available. These will be followed by a panel discussion where interviewers can provide general feedback to the students. Afterward, there will be a happy hour where students can chat with the interviewers individually.

Please send any questions to Lindsay (marks@lifesci.ucsb.edu) or Anna (anna.james@lifesci.ucsb.edu).
