The National NanoDays Festival needs excellent UCSB scientists and researchers to explain and promote Nanoscience to our local community. It is a fun, engaging event, primarily serving families with children ages 5-12.
The National NanoDays Festival âneeds excellent UCSB scientists and researchers to explain and promote nanoscience to our local community. It is a fun, engaging event, primarily servâing families with children ages 5-12.
The NanoDays festival will take place on Saturday, April 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, April 3, from noon to 4 p.m. at the beautiful Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. The event is free for the public on Saturday, April 2!
Three âWays to Volunteer
- Run a NanoDays demonstration table.
- Provide a demonstration that fits your research area and run the tableâ. This must be approved.
- Give a 3- to 7-minute talk on your researchâ. âThis talk must be exciting, visual, and accessible to the general public. We are thinking this would be a great opportunity to use past Grad Slam talks! We will have a separate room for our speaker series.
âAbout 30 volunteers are sought for each day. All activities and materials are provided. All you need to do is come and share the science with the public! So easy and rewarding.

Volunteering Information
Training: Tuesday, March 29, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Elings Hall 1601; light dinner provided.
Work Times: Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, April 3, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.â Setup and cleanup time included and lunch provided.
Activities: To get a sense of the NanoDays activities, âwatch a NanoDays training video.
Free T-Shirt: âYou will get an awesome blue "I heart Nano" T-shirt, so when you respond please indicate your shirt size.
