Applications are currently being accepted for a Professional development for Emerging Education Researchers (PEER) field school in Chicago, December 14-17. This intensive in-person PEER field schools gives opportunities for faculty, postdocs, and graduate students in STEM disciplines to develop their own educational research practice.

PEER supports emerging education researchers in developing their research interests into concrete questions, developing short- and long-term research plans, building community with other education researchers, and making progress on advancing projects to publication. The organizers seek scholars who are familiar with independent research and want to expand their methodological repertoire. Preference will be given to junior faculty and DBER "switchers," but outstanding applicants from all levels will be considered. Scholarships are available!

Whether you're just getting started, looking to stretch into new projects or methodologies, or seeking community and support around education research, the organizers would be happy to have you. They are especially interested in supporting scholars from groups historically excluded from STEM education research and those with limited access to institutional or external sources of research funding.

If you are still unsure if this is the right opportunity for you, you are invited to attend a virtual PEER workshop to experience a taste of what PEER is like. Registration is open for the Virtual Gateway Workshop, October 5, 1:00-2:30pm PST.

Thanks to the National Science Foundation, registration is free but space is limited. A small number of scholarships are available to support housing for out-of-town participants.

Applications are due on October 13. Apply today!
